2022 Spring One Room Challenge Week 1 | Vintage Red Kitchen
What is that saying… “better late than never”? We waited until the absolute last minute to make up our minds, but we have finally decided to throw our hat in the ring on the Spring 2022 One Room Challenge. If you are not familiar, the One Room Challenge is a biannual, eight-week event (spring and fall) in which featured and guest designers tackle renovating/decorating one room of their home. We participated in the 2020 Fall One Room Challenge which was when we completely renovated our living room + cloffice space in the old house.
For this One Room Challenge, we will be tackling the kitchen in the new building. As most of our followers know, the kitchen is currently nonexistent. We are operating in a non-functioning “kitchen” space and washing our dishes out of the laundry room sink. We will truly be starting from scratch with this project, which is why I find it so exciting.
A lot of our plans for this room are still very up in the air. We have chosen + purchased our cabinets and cabinet paint color-Fading Twilight by Benjamin Moore. We have also purchased a vintage brass faucet, brass cabinet hardware, and a vintage Turkish rug. Other than this, we will really be making it up as we go along. Sounds like fun, am I right?
We do know that we would love to paint the old concrete flooring in this space with a black and white diamond checkered pattern like Marynn from Wildflower Home Blog.
While you wait on the progress for the new kitchen, you should definitely check out the other featured and guest designers for the Spring 2022 One Room Challenge by clicking the link below.
Don’t forget to subscribe to our email list because the next eight weeks are going to be jam-packed with all things design, renovation, and vintage decor. You don’t want to miss it!
